Graphic Video Shows Driver Slamming Into Motorcyclist Then Telling Witness: 'I Don't Care'
Startling video footage shows the horrific moment a driver in northern Texas swerved into a motorcycle, sending the rider and his passenger bouncing across the asphalt and onto the side of the road.
The images were captured by a friend who was behind the bike and was wearing a helmet cam.
In the video, which contains graphic images and language, the pair is seen passing a slower-moving car on a two-lane country road. The driver swerves across the double-yellow line and slams into the motorcycle.
Eric Sanders and his girlfriend slam onto the road, bouncing and rolling several times before coming to rest in grass on the side of the road. He gets up and hops around. The woman lies on her back, not moving.
Their friend with the helmet cam strides up the car’s driver.
“What were you doing?” he demands. “You hit them.”
The driver: “I don’t care.” He repeats that phrase several times, and then remarks, “I got stung by a wasp.”
Sanders was treated for deep cuts and severe skin scraping and was released from a local hospital. His girlfriend, who has not been identified, is critically injured with bone-deep abrasions and a broken wrist, according to WFAA-TV.
Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety are investigating the incident. Charges have not been filed against the driver, DPS spokesman Dub Gillum told INSIDE EDITION. Sanders, however, has been cited for passing in a no-passing zone and operating a motorcycle with an invalid license.
