'Clock Kid' Ahmed Mohamed Meets Obama: 'We Spoke About Humans on Mars'
The teen was in Washington for Astronomy Night, which celebrates space and features prospective scientists, teachers, astronauts, and teens curious about the topic.
During the event, Ahmed met with astronaut Alvin Drew and President Obama.
The student spoke briefly to the Commander-in-Chief and told CBS News: "We talked about Mars and 2030 and I talked to him about the generator that I'm making and how it could help people on Mars.”
Obama invited the student to the White House following his incident that made headlines last month.
Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great.— President Obama (@POTUS) September 16, 2015
Ahmed continues to insist that he brought the clock to school to impress his engineering teacher and now says: “I impressed the world.”
Ahmed also took away a lesson from the experience, telling CBS News: "I learned that people would always be there to support you when there's injustice. There's a ton that I learned...I'm trying to get a message of how you shouldn't judge a person by what they look like. You should always judge a person by their heart."
