Will '13 Days' Damage Hillary's Campaign? Benghazi Movie to Be Released Soon Before Iowa Caucus

The Michael Bay film is due out just two weeks before the Iowa caucus.

The upcoming film, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi, is about the terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, where four Americans were killed.

The big-budget Hollywood movie directed by Michael Bay could also have a big impact on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign because it's critical of the help given the Americans inside the besieged compound.

It's scheduled to be released on January 15th, just two weeks before the Iowa Caucus.

CNN's Dylan Byers told INSIDE EDITION: “There is no advantageous time for this movie to come out but two weeks before the Iowa Caucuses is a particularly unfortunate time if you're the Hillary Clinton campaign.”

Hillary testified before a House Select committee investigating attacks on Thursday morning. She is hoping to put the issue behind her and get back to the campaign.

“I've thought more about this than any of you put together. I've lost more sleep about this than any of you put together,” she said of the incident.

But the issue is likely to come up again when the movie is released.

Editor-in-Chief of TheWrap.com Sharon Waxman told INSIDE EDITION: "You don't usually put big blockbuster movies in that date but it has a political cast to it. So, more than likely, the studio is hoping to benefit, get a little halo effect for its movie for the interest in politics that is going to be going on at that time."
