Top Investigator Hired to Probe Drowning of Hollywood Assistant on Jennifer Aniston's Honeymoon
There was a mysterious death after the honeymoon of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux on the tropical island of Bora Bora as 28-year-old Carmel Musgrove drowned on the island.
She was the personal assistant to film producer Joel Silver -- best known for The Matrix and Lethal Weapon series’. Musgrove was a budding producer with a growing list of movie credits including an Associate Producer credit for Non-Stop with Liam Neeson.
Although local officials believe she drowned, famed forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden has reportedly been hired to investigate how she died.
The young woman traveled to the exotic island with her boss to celebrate the August nuptials of Justin and Jen. She was surrounded by A-list celebrities including Jimmy Kimmel, Courteney Cox and Chelsea Handler.
According to local reports, Musgrove was swimming by herself and, tragedy struck when her "lifeless and naked" body washed up on the pristine shore.
Musgrove's family suspects foul play and hired Baden to investigate. The forensic pathologist reportedly recently traveled to Bora Bora to conduct an autopsy on Musgrove. He tells INSIDE EDITION: "I cannot say anything period."
Musgrove joined Silver Pictures as an intern and worked for the company for nearly four years.
A spokesperson for Silver said at the time of the incident: "Joel Silver, his family and his staff are devastated by the passing of Carmel Musgrove. Carmel was a dear friend and respected colleague with a very bright future ahead of her. They will all miss her dearly."
