Bride-To-Be Shows Off Engagement Ring Made From Fiance's Wisdom Tooth

A California couple who pride themselves on their nontraditional nature broke the mold once more when they got engaged with a ring made from his tooth.

A California couple who pride themselves on their nontraditional nature broke the mold once more when they got engaged, as the groom-to-be popped the question with a ring made from his wisdom tooth.

“So incredibly excited to marry my best friend, the man who knows that his wisdom tooth means more to me than a diamond,” Carlee Alisan Leifkes posted on Facebook along with a photo of the ring after her fiancé, Lucas Mancoon-Unger, popped the question on Halloween.

The pair met at a music festival in Canada earlier this year and instantly hit it off, she said on the social media site.

“When I traveled to Canada with a group of girlfriends for a music festival, I wasn’t looking for anything… Holy crap, I was so wrong,” Leifkes wrote.

Unger had all four wisdom teeth removed at once “a handful of years ago” and instinctively knew he should hold on to them.

“Before the operation I decided I was going to keep the teeth ‘just in case’ I would need it for something meaningful later in life,” he wrote on Facebook. “Little did I know, I would go on to meet the most wonderful woman at a music show, fall in love with her, travel down to California, and proceed to ask for her hand in marriage.”

The pair rejected a traditional ring in favor for something more sentimental.

“My birthstone is a diamond. I don’t need one to prove how much someone loves me. He’d already moved all the way from Canada to do that!” Leifkes told BuzzFeed, saying the ring is “the coolest ring I’ve ever seen in my life."

“What does a diamond signify in anybody’s relationship? I literally have my husband’s wisdom on my finger,” she said.

They plan to be married later this month by an Elvis Presley lookalike in a Las Vegas ceremony.

“We have never been the ‘traditional couple’, why the heck start now?” she wrote on Facebook.
