Watch This 19-Year-Old Girl See Clearly For the First Time Thanks to Donated Glasses

Malu Veltze was on a humanitarian mission in Cambodia when she met Channa, a 19-year-old girl who had to leave school in the sixth grade because of her poor eyesight.

Channa became almost blind in her right eye, a problem which could have been prevented if she had been able to afford a pair of glasses.

When Channa tried glasses on for the first time, she couldn't believe the world around her.

Veltze, 22, traveled to Cambodia to try and crowdfund $20,000 in just 24 hours to help students like Channa get eye care at 12 rural villages.

The humanitarian and photographer said in a statement: “The inability to see properly has drastically hurt these kids’ ability to succeed in their program. Proper vision enables kids to learn, adults to work, and can help lift people out of poverty.”

Veltze is working tirelessly to get eye exams and glasses for 1,400 children and their families by raising money through her Crowdrise page. If her goal is exceeded, any extra funds will support education supplies for students.
