Her mom, Michelle, sprang into action, calling 911 and sounded remarkably calm.

She told the dispatcher: “We need her to be checked out.”

After a few questions, the dispatcher asked: “Is she awake?”

“She's alert and awake,” Michelle replied.

The dispatcher eventually asked: “Is there serious bleeding?”

“There was quite a bit of blood, when the placenta detached,” Michelle said.

Jessa was rushed to the hospital and is doing fine. She and her husband, Ben Sewald, have not revealed the name of their baby boy who weighed in at nine pounds and 11 ounces. They say they are taking their time to pick the perfect name.

Jessa took to Facebook to even Hymn about the occasion:

The birth of the 20-year-old couple’s first child will be the focal point on Jill & Jessa: Counting On, the upcoming TLC series about the Duggar sisters Jill and Jessa.
