ISIS Releases Image of Soda Can Bomb They Say Brought Down Russian Plane
ISIS has released a photo of what it claims is the bomb that brought down a Russian jetliner over the Sinai Peninsula last month.
The image was contained in the latest edition of Dabiq, an English-language propaganda publication distributed by a media division of the terrorist group.
The improvised explosive device was inside a can of Schweppes Gold pineapple juice, ISIS alleges.
Militants “discovered a way to compromise the security at Sharm el-Sheikh airport” to cause the Metrojet passenger plane’s crash on Oct. 31, which killed all 224 people aboard.
Russia has offered a $50 million award for information about those responsible for the bomb.
