Man Beats Girl Who Refused to Smell His Armpits: Cops

A Texas man is facing assault charges police say started when a woman refused to smell him and escalated to him brandishing a knife.

A Texas man is facing charges after police say he hit a woman and later threatened her with a knife after she refused to smell his armpit.

Robinson Pinilla-Bolivar of Midland was arrested Friday during a traffic stop on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to police, a woman reported him November 5 after she said he hit her in the back of the head when she refused to "smell his arm pit" according to a police affidavit obtained by the Midland Reporter-Telegram.

Cops say the situation, which happened inside an apartment, and escalated after  the woman said she was leaving and Pinilla-Bolivar allegedly threatened her with a knife by holding it up to her stomach.

The woman ran to the office of the apartment building for help, where a worker told police the man tried dragging her away before he was told police were on the way, according to reports.

According to the affidavit, the woman said that she'd known Pinilla-Bolivar for years and that he'd hit her before.

Pinilla-Bolivar denied to police that he brandished the knife at the woman. Instead, he said he threw the knife into the sink because he was angry, according to CBS7.com.

Pinilla-Bolivar in being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
