Elizabeth Edwards's Police Phone Call Revealed

Adding to the John Edwards scandal comes a police report filed in 2008 by his wife Elizabeth where she claimed he stole her wallet.  INSIDE EDITION has more.

INSIDE EDITION is learning more about the disintegration of John and Elizabeth Edwards' marriage.

Just two months after Edwards’s bombshell confession on Nightline that he'd had an affair with Rielle Hunter, there was a nasty confrontation between John and Elizabeth in their mansion in North Carolina.

It happened on October 10th, 2008. According to just-released police phone call records, Elizabeth Edwards called the cops around 7:30 p.m., and she said that John Edwards had stolen her wallet. Elizabeth then abruptly hung up. Less than a minute later she called back with more of the bizarre story.

According to the police report, Elizabeth said her husband was "not being violent," but that he "didn't live in the house anymore" and was "leaving with her wallet and credit cards."

Raleigh TV station WRAL reports that police spent about 45 minutes at the Edwards mansion investigating, but no charges were filed.
