Santa Claus has given two little girls an early Christmas present by reuniting them with their military dad.

Soldier Trent Baskerville's two daughters visited Santa at Governors Square Mall in Clarksville, Tennessee and when he asked them what they'd like for Christmas, the eldest, Jordan, told him: "Have my daddy come home."

A video by ClarksvilleNow shows Santa telling the girls to close their eyes as he walks away.

Baskerville then appeared from behind a stack of presents and when the sisters opened their eyes, they couldn't believe what they were seeing.

"Daddy!" Jordan shouted as she jumped into her dad's arms.

Speaking with the local channel, Baskerville explained that the surprise had been his wife's idea.

"It couldn't be a better feeling, there's no words for it," he said.
