A Florida woman is facing domestic battery charges after she assaulted her husband because he kept farting in bed, police say.

“Dawn began kicking him and eventually kicked him out of their bed,” according to the affidavit.

When he returned to the bed, Donald said he passed gas again. At that point, “Dawn began elbowing and kicking him again.”

When Donald tried to restrain his wife, he said she began to scratch him across the chest. At some point, Dawn's lip was bloodied, but she told police Donald did not strike her.

For reasons unexplained in the affidavit, it was Dawn who called 911. When questioned, she told police she “sprayed pepper spray in the air to keep Donald out of the restroom” while she did so.

Dawn was booked in St. Lucie County jail and charged with one misdemeanor count of battery.

She's since been freed on bond and is due back in court to be arraigned December 28.
