The NBA is teaming up with Every Town for Gun Safety to help end gun violence.
Shocked by the number of people who die each day from gun violence in the U.S., NBA stars have appeared in a new public service announcement in a bid to end the shootings.
The ad, which is directed by Spike Lee, features stars Carmelo Anthony, Stephen Curry, Joakim Noah and Chris Paul as well as the families of victims who have lost their lives to gun violence.

On Wednesday, President Obama showed his support for the NBA and the ad.

The PSA is a joint effort between the National Basketball Association and Every Town for Gun Safety. During the video, one of the families who lost a loved one say that nearly 88 people die each day from gun violence.
Curry, the current NBA MVP and a member of the Garden State Warriors, explains how he heard about a three-year-old who was shot dead.
"My daughter Riley’s that age," he says.

The ad is set to run five times during Christmas Day, which is the league’s landmark holiday where they showcase a day full of games.
