Teen Named Isis Takes to Facebook to Issue Emotional Appeal to Her Bullies

A 14-year-old girl named Isis says she has become a constant target for bullies at school, all because she shares a name with the Islamic State.

Isis Brown shared her experiences with bullies in school in an emotional video on Facebook. In the video the young girl says that because of her name, she is being constantly called a terrorist.

"I have people come up to me and say why are you killing us Americans? I'm an American too, how are you going to say that," Isis recounts in the video.

The seventh-grader says she has been tormented for the past three years and has even had to switch schools to escape her tormentors.

"I have the issue of every day when I walk into school, just wanting to stop right there in the middle of the hallway and just cry," Isis says in the video.

The teen says she posted the video to send a message of hope to others who are facing similar problems with their name.

"So you kids out there with the name Isis love your name. Cherish your name," Isis said. "I'm still learning, and I know you are too, but in all reality, you're named after a goddess and not a terrorist group."
