Police say a California man murdered his teenage nephews on Friday and then attempted to flee to China, all because his wife wanted a divorce.
Deyun Shi is also accused of first attempting to murder his wife on Thursday when he allegedly assaulted her with a wood splitting tool, KABC reports.
The boys' parents reportedly went to check on Shi's wife as she recovered then returned home and went to bed. They awoke to find their sons' bodies in two separate areas of their home.
The LA County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner identified the victims as William and Anthony Lin.
The boys' mother reportedly found her young sons suffering from head trauma and unresponsive. William and Anthony were pronounced dead at the scene by police.
Shi allegedly then fled Los Angeles on a flight to Beijing. The FBI worked in collaboration with Los Angeles authorities to bring the fugitive to justice.
On Sunday, Hong Kong Police issued a statement Sunday saying the 44-year-old was arrested in connection with the slayings. The FBI confirmed the arrest on Sunday to the Associated Press.
Shi is expected to appear at court hearing in Hong Kong on Monday, police said.
