“Gianni explained to me that the Barbie can be a friend to the young girls when they feel that they have no one to talk to about the situations they face living in shelters and foster homes,” mom Whitney Graham told INSIDE EDITION.
“She came to me and said "Ma, I want to give Barbies to little girls who don't have homes and girls that are living in foster homes because I want them to know that they are pretty, I also want to write them letters to encourage and inspire them,''' Whitney explained to INSIDE EDITION.
Gianni started her donation pile with five and now has over 700 in just three weeks.
In order to distribute the dolls to the homeless girls, the child and her mom are in touch with local shelters.

“Gianni will be personally delivering the Barbies to the shelters and mailing them to the list of little girls living in foster homes across the Hampton Roads area,” Whitney told INSIDE EDITION, “We will be wrapping the Barbie's in pretty pink wrapping paper with a bow and the letter attached to it.”
Whitney told IE that when she and Gianni are done, they will continue to collect dolls and hope to distribute them nationally.
