Canadian Island Will Accept Americans if Trump Wins Presidency

Should Trump become president and you don't want him as a leader, there is a place you can go.

During every election cycle, many Americans who fear their candidate will not win say they will run away to Canada.

Now, should Donald Trump become president, one Canadian island is actually giving Americans that chance.

An ad campaign and website for the island reads: “Hi Americans! Trump may become the president of your country. If that happens and you decide to get the hell out of there, might I suggest moving to Cape Breton Island.”

Cape Breton Island, which is roughly the same size as Hawaii’s Big Island, is about a nine hour drive from Bangor, Maine. Tourism leaders say its population is 131,000.

The ad campaign was created by a resident who is passionate about where he lives and the election. The campaign is not affiliated with any sanctioned tourism site from the island.

The ad suggests you "start moving that way on election day, you just hop on a bus to start your new life in Cape Breton, where women can get abortions, Muslim people can roam freely, and the only 'walls' are holding up the roofs of our extremely affordable houses."

Homes begin in the area at $100,000.

If you are seriously thinking of heading there, don’t wait. Tourism leaders tell INSIDE EDITION that thanks to the wacky website and ad they’ve been inundated with inquiries.
