A Texas mom was arrested last week after she allegedly told police she placed her two-year-old daughter in the oven, causing her to be seriously burned.
The Somervell County Sheriff's Department were called late Thursday to a residence where a toddler was reported to have suffered burns.
Upon their arrival, deputies said they spoke to witnesses who claimed 35-year-old Tasha Shontell Hatcher told them she placed her daughter in a hot oven.
The little girl was rushed to an area hospital by ambulance, the sheriff's department said in a release.
The girl was then airlifted to a Dallas burn center, where she's being treated for second and third degree burns.
Hatcher was charged with injury to a child with serious bodily injury, a first degree felony. She was arraigned on Saturday, when bond was set at $300,000 dollars.
The case remains under investigation by the Somervell County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Rangers and Child Protective Service.
