Former College Basketball Star Injured in Brussels Speaks From Hospital
The world is now hearing from Sebastien Bellin, who was photographed on the ground in the airport following the attack in Brussels.
Bellin, a former basketball star at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, spoke to ABC's David Muir from his hospital bed.
“The whole time I was just trying to tell myself I am going to make it,” he said. “When I got to the ambulance, I knew I was good.”
Bellin, 37, is a player for Gent Hawks, a professional Belgium basketball team, and former member of Belgium’s national team.
He played for Marist between 1996-1998 before transferring to Michigan’s Oakland University. He has played professionally in Belgium since graduating in 2000.
