David Hasselhoff Says He Thought Famous Cheeseburger Rant Would Go Away: 'It Didn't'

The star managed to poke fun at the incident as he spoke to INSIDE EDITION.

David Hasselhoff is gearing up to costar in the new Baywatch movie alongside Zac Efron and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Before the film hits theaters next year, the actor is also returning to TV in an edgy new comedy called Hoff The Record, airing on AXS TV cable and satellite network.

In the show, he pokes fun at a notorious 2007 video that apparently shows him drunk and gobbling a hamburger.

“I got drunk, I lost a lot of money that night,” he told INSIDE EDITION. “My daughter came in said, ‘Dad, I’m worried.’ She loved me enough.”

Looking back on the video, which was filmed by his daughter, he said: “I thought it was funny; it’s going to go away. It didn't. I just moved forward. My daughter's laughed about it.”

Of his new show, he added: “I was able to take things that happened to me in real life and address them in a comedic sense."

Hasselhoff was 37 when Baywatch became a phenomenon in 1989.

Now 63, the Hoff is still swimsuit ready.

He keeps in shape by hitting “the gym a lot," he said.

“I limit sweets to once a week. I stay away from alcohol,” he explained.
