Janet Jackson, 49, Says She's Putting Tour On Hold to Plan a Family

The 49-year-old singer also said she is under doctor's orders to rest.

Janet Jackson is delaying her "Unbreakable World Tour" to start a family with husband Wissam Al Mana.

The 49-year-old singer tweeted a near two-minute video message on Wednesday morning.

“My husband and I are planning our family. That's why I have to delay the tour. Please if you can understand why it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders,” she said.

The "Unbreakable World Tour" began in August 2015 and has been hit with a series of postponements. Last month, she had to postpone her European leg of the tour which was set to begin this spring. 

Jackson secretly wed Wissam Al Mana in 2012, however, did not confirm the news until early 2013. It was her third marriage.

She was married to singer James DeBarge in 1984, the marriage was annulled a year later. In 1991, she married dancer and music video director Rene Elizondo, Jr., they divorced in 2000.

Jackson has never had any children.
