Hero Cop Shot by ISIS-Inspired Gunman Proposes to Girlfriend at Phillies Game

Love was in the air at the Philadelphia Phillies home opener at Citizens Bank Park.

Hero police officer Jesse Hartnett, who was shot and wounded in January during an ambush by a man who allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS, threw out the first pitch during Monday afternoon's game.

Hartnett is still recovering and wore a sling. After the pitch, the crowd roared, but Hartnett had something else under up sleeve – an engagement ring.

He got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Lily.

Hartnett told the CBS affiliate in Philadelphia, “The cheer that they gave me was wonderful and it was definitely welcomed.”

Lily, of course, said yes.
