Beyonce kicked off her highly anticipated “Formation World Tour” on Wednesday night in Miami.
She sang the now-infamous lyrics referencing “Becky with the good hair” -- a woman her husband, Jay Z, may have had an affair with – in front of him at the gig.
She later publicly proclaimed her love for him, telling the crowd: “I want to dedicate this song to my beautiful husband. I love you so much.”
When the concert was announced earlier this year, a Miami police union called for a boycott of the concert.
The Miami chapter of The Fraternal Order of Police issued a statement in February saying the star "used this year's Super Bowl to divide Americans by promoting the Black Panthers and her anti-police message."
Beyonce poked fun at the situation with her merchandise. The singer sold t-shirts containing “Boycott Beyonce” written across the chest.
