The former New York Giant and NFL Hall of Famer was given an emotional sendoff.

During the final moments of Friday's show, Kelly Ripa presented her departing co-host with a series of gifts, including a bronze pair of size 16 stiletto heels he wore during a Halloween episode, a photo album of their favorite moments and a photoshopped image of Ripa posing with Strahan in the early 90s.

As they raised a glass to toast their time together, Ripa told Strahan: ‘We did everything together… We couldn’t be prouder for you. You have given us so much.”

An emotional Strahan also expressed his gratitude to the crew, the audience, the viewers and most of all, to Ripa.

‘Kelly, you are the best,” he declared.

As montages of his finest moments during his four-year tenure played throughout the show, the tone would shift from funny to somber.

The nostalgia factor was high during clips of Strahan doing a Tough Mudder course, having a crack at foreign accents, showing off his chiseled figure and wearing the infamous crimson boots from the Broadway smash Kinky Boots.

Strahan assured everyone: "I'm still in the family. And I'm still available to come back if I'm ever called to co-host. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not gone."

It was those moments where viewers and audience members reflected on why the show has become so popular since he took the place of longtime co-host Regis Philbin in 2012.

As the final montage came to a close, the words “Good Luck” and “Keep Smiling” flashed on the screen.

“A lot has happened,” Ripa said. He took her hand, gave it a kiss and they embraced.

On April 19, Strahan shocked viewers and his co-host when he announced that he would be leaving the show to join Good Morning America full-time in the fall.

Since his announcement, rumors of backstage turmoil between the co-hosts have made headlines.

On Friday, it seemed all rumors and alleged bad blood was pushed aside as the pair closed a chapter on the long-running morning talk show.
