Twin Killing: Woman Charged With Murdering Her Identical Sister in Latest Twist of Their Bizarre Lives

Alexandria and Anastasia Duval, also known as Alison and Ann Dadow, both have criminal records, according to local reports.

A twin has been charged with killing her sister by driving their car off a cliff in Hawaii, where witnesses said the two were arguing before the vehicle slammed through a rock wall, authorities said.

Alexandria Duval, 37, pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder Monday in Wailuku District Court on the island of Maui.

The car crash is the latest twist in the bizarre lives of the glamorous twins, punctuated by allegedly running yoga studios and then abandoning them, leaving behind unpaid debts and employees, according to local reports.

Alexandria was behind the wheel and her sister Anastasia was in the passenger seat when their Ford Explorer sped straight into a rock wall May 29, then plunged over a 200-foot seaside cliff on Maui, police said.

Anastasia was pronounced dead at the scene. Alexandria was airlifted to a local hospital with critical injuries, CBS affiliate KBMG-TV reported.

Witnesses told police the women were arguing in the car as it was stopped on the side of a road, the station reported. The passenger was pulling the driver’s hair before the SUV suddenly sped forward, made a sharp turn and plowed through the wall, witnesses said.

Alexandria was trying to leave the state when she was arrested Friday, police said. But her lawyer said she was trying to board a flight to attend her sister’s funeral in Utica, New York, where the twins were born.

“The fear we have is that she could easily go to a country where we don’t have an extradition treaty. She has already changed her identity once, so she could change her identity again and we wouldn’t be able to locate her,” deputy prosecuting attorney Emlyn Higa told the court.

The sisters left behind a yoga studio in West Palm Beach, Florida, without paying its debts or its employees, according to local reports. They had matching Porsches and shopped at tony stores, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.

Another studio they allegedly started in Utah later went bankrupt, and was hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, the station reported.

They have a criminal history that includes arrests for public intoxication, driving under the influence, assaulting a peace officer and battery, the paper reported, citing 2014 and 2015 court records from Florida and Utah.

In January, one of them showed up at a homeless shelter asking for money and saying she had nowhere to go, the paper reported.

A judge denied bail for Alexandria. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
