Shaken Mom Takes Video Of Man She Says Attacked Her Over Breastfeeding: 'You F***ing Wh**e'

Mom says strangers came to her defense when man a began cussing at her for breastfeeding her baby in Target.

The sight of a woman feeding her baby the way nature intended was apparently enough to cause a male Target shopper to come undone.

Connecticut mom Jessie Maher says she began filming with her cell phone — and later posted to her Facebook account — after he shouted, “you are f***ing disgusting... you wh**e," Maher wrote. Her post has been viewed four million times since Monday.

Maher said she was sitting in the store’s cafeteria section, minding her own business and breastfeeding her baby, when the unidentified man began screaming at her.

On the video, she is heard saying, "Because I am feeding my baby this man is going crazy and I’m shaking."

The man can be seen demanding a refund for his food, as Target employees approach and a stranger comes to Maher’s defense.

“He has no right to be doing what he’s doing. You have a baby in your hands,” the woman says.

Maher can be heard breaking into tears, saying she is embarrassed. ‘You should not be ashamed. Not at all. He can go the other away,” the woman says.

Meanwhile, staffers surround the man and nudge him away from the mother and out of the cafeteria.

“The amount of people coming at me to defend me was amazing,” Maher told CBS affiliate WFSB-TV on Tuesday. “Everyone that was right in that area was there for me, was defending me, so it felt really good.”

Breastfeeding is a legally protected right in Connecticut.

In a statement to the station, Target said “We want all of our guests to feel comfortable shopping with us. Our breastfeeding policy, which applies to all stores, is just one of the ways in which we support our guests.

“Guest who choose to breastfeed in public areas of the store are welcome to do so without being made to feel uncomfortable,” the release said.

“With all the hate going on in the world, you need to pick you battles,” Maher said. “This is not a battle to fight. A woman feeding her baby – it’s pretty ridiculous. He needs to know that, and other people need to know that, too.”

She said she intends to file a police report about Monday’s incident.
