Shoplifter Caught on Video as He Flees Walmart on Mobility Scooter: Cops

Police in Arizona are searching for a scooter rider who they say filled the basket of the motorized transport with items at a Walmart and sped off without paying.

In surveillance video from the Tucson store that resembles a slapstick comedy show, the suspect is seen zig zagging in the battery-powered chair as a Walmart employee tries to stop him.

After some failed attempts to get past the employee, the suspect appears to pin the worker against a wall.

While the employee gets free with the help of two bystanders, the suspect is able to zoom out through an open door.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office describes the suspect as white with brown hair and a mustache, believed to be in his late 40's or early 50's.

The suspect was last seen wearing a red University of Arizona baseball hat, black V-neck t-shirt, blue jeans, and running shoes, police said.

The scooter is gray and the suspect was also carrying crutches.

The suspect is also wanted in connection with a theft on July 2, 2016, at the same store, according to a police statement.
