Team USA Going With Preppy Classic Look for Rio Olympics

Ralph Lauren had to make 1,100 uniforms for Team USA, including one for the flag bearer that illuminates.

American style meets American heroes as the official outfits donned by the U.S. Olympians in the Rio Olympics have been revealed.

The parade and pageantry of all the Olympians heading into the stadium during opening night is one of the many highlights of the games and 2016 should be no different in these uniforms.

This year, Team USA has opted for a preppy and classic look from Ralph Lauren, who has designed every Olympic outfit for Team USA. It is the fifth time he has clothed the Olympians.

The outfit consists of a navy blazer, stripped t-shirt and white jeans, pulled together with boat shoes.

There's something very unique about the blazer the flag bearer will wear. The USA insignia on the back illuminates and so does the patch on the front.

There're called "electroluminescent panels" developed in Silicon Valley.

Dressing the team in the outfit is no easy task — 16 tailors and 2 stylists worked to make sure everything fits just right. They had to make 1,100 uniforms.
