Following a gold medal rugby match between the Australian and New Zealand women's teams, the venue manager inside Deodoro Stadium arrived on the pitch to propose to her girlfriend.

Marjorie Enya manages the stadium and proposed to her girlfriend of two years, Isadora Cerullo, a member of the Brazilian women’s rugby team.

Surrounded by Cerullo’s teammates, Enya asked for her hand in marriage. The 25-year-old rugby player emotionally accepted as she kissed her 28-year-old fiancée.

The Brazilian squad cheered and smiled as the two sealed the next phase of their lives together.

“As soon as I knew she was in the squad I thought I have to make this special," Enya told BBC Sport. “I know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it.”
