Orlando Shooter's Father Seen Grinning Behind Hillary Clinton at Florida Rally
The father of the man who shot up Orlando's Pulse nightclub is endorsing Hillary Clinton.
Gunman Omar Mateen’s father, Seddique, was seen sitting behind Clinton at a rally in Kissimmee, Florida, Monday not far from where the massacre took place.
Following the event, reporters caught up with the father to find out why he attended.
"Hillary Clinton is good for United States, versus Donald Trump, who has no solutions," he told Orlando station WPTV.
At the event, Clinton addressed the Pulse massacre where Omar Mateen killed 49 clubgoers.
“I know how many people - loved ones and friends - are still grieving,” Clinton said. “And I want them to know that we will be with you.”
Social media exploded with shock and outrage.
"Hillary cannot let a terrorist's dad in her VIP seats,” read one tweet.
One person commented: "Omar Mateen's dad endorses Hillary. Will she disavow???”
In a statement the Clinton campaign said: “This rally was a 3,000-person, open-door event for the public. This individual wasn't invited as a guest and the campaign was unaware of his attendance until after the event."
