O.J. Simpson Is the Talk of the Emmy Awards, but Will He Tune In?

Will O.J. Simpson be watching the Emmy Awards Sunday?

His name will be on everyone's lips as the hit series The People Vs O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story is up for 22 Emmys, including Outstanding Limited Series, Best Actor Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Best Actress Sarah Paulson.

Simpson, now 69, remain imprisoned in Nevada for a kidnapping and armed robbery conviction handed down in 2009.

He never saw the series because the prison TV system does not carry the FX network, but will he be permitted to watch the Emmy awards, which will air on ABC?

Former Nevada prison guard Jeffrey Felix told Inside Edition: "I do think the Emmys will be shown in prison, I don’t see why the prison would object to the Emmys. They are not showing his whole life to the inmates. They probably will show the Emmys."

The Los Angeles Times recently reported about Simpson’s life behind bars at Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nevada. The disgraced NFL star sleeps in the top bunk. He wakes up at 6:30 a.m. and has a breakfast of cold cereal, a muffin and fruit.

He works four days a week mopping floors and wiping down equipment in the prison gym.

Simpson could be paroled as soon as October 2017. His close friend Norman Pardo says Simpson is getting himself in shape for the big day.

"I am sure he is getting shape now, he is not going to want to come out of there in bad shape. O.J. is conceited that way," he said.
