The lawyer allegedly had anger-management problems, according to reports.

A troubled lawyer wearing Nazi symbols and armed with several weapons opened fire near a suburban Texas strip mall Monday morning, injuring nine people before he was shot dead by police, according to reports and police.

Officers called in the bomb squad to examine a Porsche loaded with weapons, Houston police said. The sports car is registered to local attorney Nathan Desai, who was identified as the gunman in several reports.

Local stations also reported that Desai was wearing clothing with swastikas and that his car contained Nazi paraphernalia.

Six people were hospitalized after shots rang out starting about 6 a.m., according to acting police chief Martha Montalvo. One person is listed in critical condition and another is seriously wounded, she said.

Three people were treated and released at the scene.

Desai worked out of his home, which was near the shooting scene, according to his father, Prakash Desai, KPRC-TV reported.  “He was worried … because his law practice was not running good, so he [was] worried about this all time,” he told the station.

The lawyer specialized in business, family and criminal law, according to the Texas State Bar.

It was still dark when shooting erupted in the wealthy enclave of West University.

“I literally heard the gunshots past my face,” witness Antwon Wilson told KTRK-TV. “It’s a hard pill to swallow.”
