Woman Arrested for Alleged DUI Hit-and-Run Hours After Posting Pic With New Mercedes: Cops

A California woman was busted last week after cops say she hit a bicyclist and sped away, hours after posting a photo of herself with a new Mercedes to Instagram.

According to Costa Mesa police, a bicyclist was struck at about 11 p.m. last Tuesday, possibly fracturing the victim's leg, among other injuries.

The victim alerted police, who he told them the driver of a grey Mercedes had hit him and fled.

A few blocks away, cops say they spotted a car fitting the victim's description that had sustained damage "consistent with the bike accident," Sgt. Dan Miles told the OC Register.

The officers pulled the car over and administered a roadside sobriety check.

The driver, 22-year-old Aya Ibish of Laguna Beach, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and felony hit-and-run causing injury, Miles said.

A Facebook message left for Ibish did not get an immediate response Wednesday afternoon.

In the hours leading up to her arrest, Ibish had posted a photo of herself to Instagram in which she was posing beside a grey Mercedes-Benz adorned with a giant red gift bow on the hood.

The post has since been deleted.
