Football fans in San Francisco have taken tailgating up a notch, preparing decadent meals in luxurious spaces as they wait in style for the 49ers to take to the field.

On any given Sunday, the parking lot at Levi’s Stadium is a sea of red and gold as fans of all ages live it up before games.

Families cart big screen televisions to watch before the game and grill up prime cuts of meat to satisfy their appetites before chowing down on the stadium’s upscale meals.  

Michelin-star chef Michael Mina’s upscale restaurant Bourbon Steak offers up delicious fare, as does his $5,000-a-year tailgate.

There, fans can pay $5,000 for a season’s tailgate membership, where fans will devour delicacies, including a whole roasted pig and an entire Japanese Wagyu cow.

“People underestimate how much chefs love sports,” Mina said.
