Baby Will Never See or Hear Again After Babysitter Threw Him for Pulling PlayStation Cable: Cops

Baby Will Never See or Hear Again After Babysitter Threw Him for Pulling PlayStation Cable: Cops (Aurora PD)

A Colorado babysitter allegedly threw a 7-month-old boy — nearly killing him — in what prosecutors say was an outburst of violence over a video game.

In July, Caleb Collins was hit with charges of attempted first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury in the case.

This week, unsealed documents obtained by 9News revealed the child will "likely never see, hear or have purposeful movement."

The documents also reportedly allege that Collins injured the boy after he "crawled toward his PlayStation and pulled one of the cables."

The arrest affidavit says Collins called 911 on June 30 and claimed the baby "fell from his arms and was not conscious or responsive."

An investigation later concluded the injuries sustained by the boy were "the result of forceful handling, not an accidental drop" according to a press release from the police.

A father himself, "Caleb said he felt awful for being responsible for hurting [the boy]" according to the affidavit.

Collins pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.

If convicted, he could face up to 90 years in prison.
