Two Kids Shot Dead While Home Alone in Georgia 'Home Invasion' (Daveon Coates/ Facebook)

Two kids were found shot dead in what police are calling a home invasion in Georgia on Saturday morning.

11-year-old Tatiyana Coates and 15-year-old Daveon Coates were both found dead by police inside a Jonesboro home at 5 a.m., police said.

There were no parents home at the time of the shooting, police said. 

"It's very tragic. It's senseless,' Clayton County Police Chief Michael Register told WSB-TV.

Police told 11alive intruders tried to force their way inside the home overnight while Tatiyana, Daveon, and several other children, ages 6 to 13, were inside.

The suspect or suspects began shooting, and neighbors called police, according to reports.

The other children in the home during the invasion were not harmed.

"I've been living here for three years and nothing like this has ever happened," Erin Calandra told 11alive. "But in this day and age, anything is possible. People don't care." 

The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation and police don’t have a motive as of yet, according to reports.
