The Gourd, the Bad and the Ugly: 200 Pumpkins Stolen From Family Farm

Farms View Roadstand in New Jersey farm lost $2,500 to $3,000 in merchandise in a heist caught on video.

In a season when small farms nationwide depend on pumpkin sales to stay afloat, a family-run New Jersey operation is out thousands of dollars after thieves stole hundreds of their gourds.

Surveillance footage taken overnight Tuesday at the Farms View Roadstand in Wayne Township shows what owners told police are thieves taking the pumpkins and fleeing in a van.

The family said the van pulled up three times early Tuesday and as many as four thieves were able to take nearly 200 pumpkins.

Farm proprietors said the pumpkins would have sold for between $2,500 and $3,000.

The thieves hit first at 1:40 a.m., then again at 3 a.m. and finally at 4:55 a.m., InsideEdition.com learned.

The family is now offering $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Todd Kuehm, a fourth generation worker, told InsideEdition.com: "I would gladly spend another thousand [dollars] to see these people get what they deserve."
