Starstruck: Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Destroyed by Vandal

James Otis, who claimed he wanted to auction the star to benefit women, reportedly hacked it out with a pickaxe.

After it was repeatedly defaced over the last several months, Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is no more.

The polished emblem of the Republican candidate's The Apprentice celebrity is seen being hacked away by a man dressed as a city worker wielding a pickaxe and sledgehammer, as seen in a video posted by Deadline.

The man told TMZ that his name is James Otis, and he was up front about his role in the early morning vandalism. He told the website that he has no regrets, and he doesn't care if he goes to jail for the crime.

Otis said he destroyed the star it to draw attention to women who have been victimized by sexual assault, and to benefit the women accusing Donald Trump of sexual misconduct.

“The reason I did it was because of the amount of sexual assaults that not only my own family has experienced, but the many women that Donald Trump has done this to,” Otis told TMZ in a video.

“The point of the exercise was to take the star and auction it off and take that money and distribute it to the women who have been sexually assaulted by Donald Trump.”

Police are now looking for sledgehammer-wielding suspect, who may face felony vandalism charges.

In the video provided to Deadline, sparks fly as the metal and stone square is smashed to bits. The camera briefly zooms in on the 'R' in 'TRUMP' after it was ripped out of the sidewalk.

A photo taken by Pete Demetriou of KNX 1070 radio shows the star is totally unrecognizable as Trump's.

What appears to be the final act of vandalism on the billionaire's star comes after months of reports of less permanent acts of aggression against it.

A swastika was spray-painted on the star at one point in the drawn out 2016 election. An artist also erected a wall meant to evoke Trump's proposed barrier between the U.S. and Mexico.

Deadline says the man who destroyed the star told them his intent was to it auction it off in order to raise funds for the women who have come forward to accuse Trump of sexual misconduct in recent weeks.

Trump was given the star in 2007 after his work on The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice.
