"Chicago Cubs. 2016. World Champions. You heard it here first."

That's what Mike Lee decided would be his senior quote in his high school yearbook before he graduated from the Mission Viejo High School in 1993.

"I said, 'that's a funny quote, that's great,'" classmate Marcos Meza, who has been friends with Lee since seventh grade, told InsideEdition.com.

They eventually lost touch, and reconnected via Facebook in 2009.

"I wrote him, 'Dude, I'll always remember that you had the best senior quote,'" said Meza and sent him a picture from the original year book, with the quote below his portrait.

Last August, Lee reposted the photo to his Facebook.

But what started as a joke now has baseball fanatics fired up as the Chicago Cubs enter the World Series for the first time in more than 70 years against the Cleveland Indians.

Whether or not his spine-chilling premonition holds any weight, Meza said that despite being a die-hard Los Angeles Dodgers fan, he's rooting for his friend's senior year quote to come true.

"He will never have to pay for a drink again," Meza joked, "and I want to be the guy next to him."
