Abdul, who was on duty the night of the October 3 robbery, told Inside Edition he thought he was going to die.

He witnessed every heart-pounding moment as the masked thieves approached the main entrance of the building and down a corridor where they encountered Abdul and asked him to let them in.

Abdul said that the attire of the subjects led him to believe they were cops. But once inside, they brandished weapons and demanded to be led to the room where the "rapper's wife" was staying.

The 39-year-old said the thieves did not specifically target Kim Kardashian as previously believed, but planned to rob any wealthy guests as they came through the door.

“They don't know any names,” he told Inside Edition.

Singer Robin Thicke was also staying at the hotel at the time, and could have returned at any moment to be robbed by the same suspects.

But when no-one turned up, they decided to hit all 11 apartments in the hotel.

According to Abdul, the thieves said, "we will do them all.”

Kardashian's apartment was first because it was on the first floor. Abdul demonstrated how the bandits in ski masks forced him to open her door, busting in on the terrified reality star, who was awake on the bed in a bathrobe.

Abdul said they pointed a gun at her and, “he was shaking her, shaking her with gun.”

They also tied her up and bound her with duct tape as they raided the apartment.

The holdup had all the hallmarks of international jewel thieves The Pink Panthers, but the concierge says he believes the crooks who robbed Kardashian were amateurs who wanted cash, not diamonds.

According to Abdul, they kept saying, “where is the money?”

Kardashian had the equivolent of $1,000 in Euros. So she offered them her engagement ring, which the thieves did not appear to know was worth $4.5 million.

The robber casually slipped the ring in his pocket as the mother of two begged for her life, Abdul said.

“’I have babies, I have babies, don't hurt me. I'm a mom’,” Abdul told Inside Edition.

At the time of the robbery, Kardashian’s husband, Kanye West, was performing in New York at the Meadows Music Festival in Queens. He cut his performance short and quickly traveled to Paris after receiving word of the robbery.

Since the ordeal, Kardashian has just returned to the filming of her reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians following a brief hiatus
