Mom Photographs Sleeping Daughter, 5, Clutching Hillary Clinton Action Figure

Adele, a 5-year-old from Mamaroneck, New York, was photographed clutching her Clinton toy while tucked under the covers Monday. She's since gone viral.

While some children might snuggle with a teddy bear at night, this 5-year-old girl found an alternative: a Hillary Clinton action figure.

Adele, a 5-year-old from Mamaroneck, New York, was photographed clutching her Clinton toy while sleeping soundly on Monday night.

Adele's cousin, Sara Spruch-Feiner, shared the image to Twitter, where it has been retweeted more than 2,000 times and liked more than 5,000 times.

"There's something about this picture that is peaceful in the midst of what has been a vitriolic campaign," Spruch-Feiner, a writer who lives in New York City, told InsideEdition.com. "There is hope."

Adele's mom Lisa, who asked that their last name not to be used, said politics is often a topic of conversation in their home.

"My husband is a news junkie and there's a lot of chit chat about politics," she told InsideEdition.com. "Obviously since it's a woman running for president, that upped the ante."

Adele, who has two brothers including a twin, received the Clinton doll as a holiday gift last year. It mostly lived on her dresser -- until Monday night when Lisa found it wrapped tightly in her hand.

"It was a tender moment. It made me feel hopeful," Lisa said. "She comes from a family of strong women. I would rather she looks up to someone like Hillary than Barbie."

When Lisa asked her daughter what she liked about Clinton, Adele told her, "She's nice."

"She said, 'Hillary likes everyone. She likes children like us,'" her mom added. "Obviously they are listening. They are hearing stuff in the news."

On Tuesday, when Lisa told her daughter she was about to vote, Adele raced upstairs and threw on some clothes so she could join her mom. The Hillary doll went too, tucked in her pocket.

"There's a lot of excitement," Lisa said. "And I'm excited to see how she'll react to the result tomorrow."
