Boy With Down Syndrome Featured in OshKosh B'gosh Campaign, Despite Once Being Overlooked

Little Asher Nash is now being featured in OshKosh B'gosh advertisements after his mom petitioned for more companies to feature kids with special needs.

This cheerful Georgia toddler with Down syndrome, once overlooked for child modeling gigs, is now the face of OshKosh B'gosh's Christmas ad campaign.

"I couldn't be prouder of my children right now," Meagan Nash, the mother of 17-month-old Asher Nash, told InsideEdition.com.

Earlier this fall, Nash, of Buford said she discovered an advertising agency had not submitted her son to various modeling campaigns, even though he fit the criteria.

When she asked the agency why they had not been contacted, the agency said "they were not looking for a baby with special needs,'" Nash recalled.

But the determined mother argued that the campaign never specified whether their ideal candidate should or should not have special needs. She insisted Asher, who fit the specifications listed by the companies, should have been submitted.

The agency quickly apologized, but through Nash's social media outreach, various children's companies started contacting the family directly and offering Asher a spot in their campaigns.

One of the companies was OshKosh B'gosh, which has now fulfilled its promise to feature Asher in its Christmas campaign.

A spokesperson from OshKosh B'gosh told InsideEdition.com, "After meeting with the family, the team felt it would be a great thing to have him be a part of it.”

"I feel so many emotions after seeing the ad," Meagan Nash said. "I set out to spread awareness on an issue we face in the world today, and people not only took notice, but they are also wanting to spread awareness and make a change."

She said Asher, who was 5 months old the first time his photos were submitted to an agency, will also begin to work with brands like Toys "R" Us and Safety 1st Car Seats.

OshKosh B'gosh also told InsideEdition.com that Asher will be invited to be a part of an Atlanta casting call in March.
