Woman Starts Fire Because She Wasn't Invited to Roommate's Party: Cops

A Texas woman was arrested Wednesday after cops say she tried setting fire to her home because her roommate was planning a party — and she wasn't invited.

Police were called to the home of Jenna Tyon in Manor, just outside Austin, at about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

When they arrived, Tyon's roommate reportedly told police Tyon became upset when she found out he was planning a party that she was not invited to.

The roommate told police that Tyon grabbed a gas can and began to pour gasoline outside and inside the house, according to an affidavit obtained by InsideEdition.com

She then allegedly poured gasoline on the roommate and threatened to set him on fire and burn the house down while holding a lighter.

At that point, the roommate said he fled and called 911.

When police arrived, Tyon could be heard upstairs yelling "Don't come up here you f***ing pigs!" according to the affidavit.

Cops say they made contact with Tyon and she told them she suffers from bipolar disorder and that she'd not been having "a good week."

"It was a joke," she reportedly told police. "I did have a can of gasoline but I was only trying to get him to leave. I wasn't trying to set the house on fire."

Tyon was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
