Family Gets Assault Rifle in The Mail For Christmas Instead of Toy They Ordered

UPS said the mix-up is unusual.

A Long Island couple received an assault-rifle in the mail instead of the Fisher-Price toy they were expecting.

Joel Berman, 60, reportedly opened the UPS package on Wednesday in front of his wife and 6-year-old granddaughter a toy airplane but instead found the 50-caliber assault rifle along with a scope and ammo clip, according to reports.

Berman immediately took his granddaughter out of the room and called police, reports said.

Berman and his wife had unknowingly driven around with the weapon in their trunk, thinking it was the toy they’d ordered.
