She had just published her best-selling memoir, Unsinkable, and discussed her final wish, telling Inside Edition's Les Trent, “I am going to sing and dance and act silly until I just kick it.”

Debbie Reynolds burst into the national scene at age 18 and went on to a legendary career that spanned seven decades on stage, TV screens and in films like How The West Was Won and Singin’ in the Rain.

She received an Oscar nomination for her role in The Unsinkable Molly Brown.

“It’s amazing to me that I’m in show business," she told Inside Edition three years ago. "No one in my family is from show business, so for me to have been lucky enough to land in the golden era of this really wonderful business. It's an out of body experience."

Her marriage to pop singer Eddie Fisher ended in one of the great scandals in Hollywood history.

He abandoned her to marry her best friend, screen siren Elizabeth Taylor. Reynolds revealed that Frank Sinatra had warned her not to marry Eddie Fisher.

She recalled Sinatra saying, “I don't want you marry Eddie. I don't want you to marry a singer, they all cheat. All singers cheat."

"And of course I was rather aghast," Reynolds said.

Years later, she was able to forgive Taylor and they reconciled on a transatlantic ocean crossing.

“She must have decided in her room to send me a note and I decided in my room to send her a note and we said let’s get together and talk about it,” Reynolds recalled to Inside Edition.

Married three times, Reynolds candidly admitted she had terrible taste in men.

She said: “I still believe in love. It’s just that it hasn't happened to me. It’s wonderful if you can really find someone that adores you but that hasn't happened for me so I think three strikes and that's enough of that!”

Reynolds and her daughter, Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher had a tumultuous relationship that included a decade of not speaking to one another. After they buried the hatchet, they became very close, with the proud mother worrying about her daughter.
