A Michigan mom wore the infamous Chewbacca mask while giving birth earlier this month and has become a viral sensation herself.

Katie Stricker Curtis, 32, wore the mask to help ease the pain of labor and have a good laugh as her son, Jayden, entered the world.

"That mask makes me laugh so hard, it makes me so happy," she told Inside Edition. "I was in some pain, yeah. So it was like, now is the time. It made it really funny."

She says she got the mask as a Christmas gift, saying: “We thought it'd be hilarious if I took it to the hospital and the doctors thought it was hysterical.”

Curtis got the idea to wear the mask after she saw Texas mom Candace Payne’s video in May that made her a global phenomenon as she laughed in a parking lot while wearing the Star Wars mask.

“Her laugh was so contagious, it was like the best video ever,” Curtis told Inside Edition.

It took Curtis 19 hours to deliver her child and when she posted the video wearing the mask on Facebook, she wrote: “Just because I'm about to be a mom doesn't mean I have to grow up! Bwahahahahs never take life too seriously! Best Christmas gift ever!"
