O.J. Simpson's Sister Believes He Is Innocent: 'I Know He Did Not Kill Nicole and Ron'

21 years later, Shirley Baker is still thrilled watching the moment of his acquittal.

Almost 23 years after the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman, the former football great’s sister, Shirley Baker, told Inside Edition she doesn’t believe her brother is guilty.

“I know he did not kill Nicole and Ron,” she told Inside Edition.

She was there immediately following the murders when their mother asked Simpson point blank if he did it.

“She said tell me, did you do this?" Baker recalled. "He looked her in the eye and hugged her and he said, 'mommy no, I did not do it.' He said, 'I did not do it.' He said, 'I love Nicole.'"

During Simpson’s murder trial, his older sister was in court every. More than 21 years later, she's still thrilled watching the moment he is found not guilty.

She was also with her brother when the entire family celebrated the day of his acquittal.

Thirteen years later, Simpson was sentenced to 33 years for armed robbery and kidnapping, which Baker saw as retribution for the grisly killings.

“I knew in my heart it was payback for Nicole,” Baker claims.

Shirley talks to her brother every week by phone and visits him four times a year at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada. Recently, she made the trip with his best friend Tom Scotto.

“It was the first time in eight years I was able to put my arms around him," she recalled. "When he first comes out we can hug and embrace and we sit down at the table."

They had a meal together, which she said included cappuccino, coffee, popcorn and a BBQ beef sandwich.

For breakfast, she says he eats oatmeal or Honey Nut Cheerios. He eats lots of canned salmon and tuna because he is currently watching his weight.

She says the guards have a nickname for him — Nordberg — his character’s name in The Naked Gun movie series.

Tabloids have recently reported that the former Heisman Trophy winner is now Muslim. His sister disputes that, saying he is still a Baptist.

Baker said "The Juice" is in charge of the prison gym and “makes sure all of the equipment is clean.”

Simpson knew Inside Edition would be talking to his sister and delivered a message through Baker: "Remember who he was.”

Baker added: “My brother would not slit his wife's throat, leave her outside and with the door open with his two children upstairs in the bedroom. I will go to my death bed for that."

Simpson will be eligible for parole this fall.
