A Florida mother was busted during a traffic stop after shoving a bag of marijuana under her baby, who was riding in the backseat, police said.
Lacandance Berring, 23, was pulled over by Boca Raton police for driving with license tag decals that expired in 2005, authorities said.
The woman was reaching toward the rear seat when officers approached, according an arrest report, the Palm Beach Post reported.
The officers could smell pot and asked for permission to search the gray Mazda that Berring was driving, the report said.
A policewoman picked up Berring’s 11-month-old baby after noticing the child’s carrier wasn’t properly secured, authorities said.
A bag of marijuana was on the car seat, police officer said.
Berry acknowledged she had smoked pot in the vehicle about 10 minutes before she was stopped, the report said.
She was charged with child neglect and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was also cited for driving without a license or insurance card, police said.
