Following Emma Stone's win for Best Actress, accountant Brian Cullinan tweeted a photo on his personal account with the caption: "Best Actress Emma Stone Backstage!"

The tweet has since been deleted.

The timestamp on the tweet was 9:05 p.m. local time, just three minutes before the blunder seen round the world.

Cullinan's blunder caused Dunaway and Beatty to read La La Land as the Best Picture winner instead of Moonlight

The accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers has taken full responsibility for the chaos that followed and placed the blame on Cullinan.

"Once the error occurred, protocols for correcting it were not followed through quickly enough by Mr. Cullinan or his partner," the U.K.-based firm said in a statement. "For the past 83 years, the academy has entrusted PwC with the integrity of the awards process during the ceremony, and last night we failed the Academy."

Cullinan is being accused of letting the glitz and glamour of Oscar night go to his head. He has posted photos of himself on the Oscars red carpet with other stars.

Cullinan is a graduate of Cornell University and lives in Malibu, California. He is a managing partner for the southwest region of the country. According to his Twitter profile, he is an avid skier, New England Patriots fan, and enjoys riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday night, he went into a blow by blow account of what happened.

“Except for end, it was a lot of fun,” he told the audience.

He was supposed to end the show in the audience sitting next to Matt Damon for the

“I hear Matt Damon say: ‘I think I hear the stage manager say they got the winner wrong.’ The stage manager is never on camera. It's very unusual. We're sitting there and then you figure the host will go on camera an clear it up and then I remember, I’m the host,” he said.

Some even thought it was one of the host’s practical jokes, noticing the similarities between Damon and the accountant.

“People started speculating 'Did you pull a prank of some kind?' And I was, ‘Hey, no, I didn't. I did not pull a prank. If I pulled a prank, I just wouldn't have had the wrong winner's name on the envelope. When they opened the envelope, there would have been a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon. It was not a prank,” he said.
