Real-Life "Bonnie and Clyde"

Airdate: 04/07/2011

Gunshots rang out as a brown Jeep approached a massive police roadblock.

The driver hit the gas and swerved around the police cars. Cops took off after the fleeing vehicle and a TV news camera crew was rolling the entire time.

Cops say the stolen car was driven by a real-life Bonnie and Clyde. Their names are Michael Bagwell and Diana Dayton.

The couple had allegedly gone on a crime spree from Georgia to South Carolina to North Carolina.

An alleged victim called 911 and said,  "Somebody's trying to do a home invasion. They just tried to break into my house!"

Police set up a roadblock near Charlotte to bring the odyssey to an end. But Bonnie and Clyde have other ideas.

They plowed through the grass, oblivious to police gunfire. One rear tire was flat and there were bullet holes in the bodywork of the Jeep.

It was a scene straight out of the classic Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway movie. But in the movie, Bonnie and Clyde die in a hail of bullets.

These guys were luckier. They were captured alive further down the road. After facing down that barrage of bullets, they now face a barrage of charges.
